The Green Child, Ronda
Expectations

<< -- >>

I am always expected to open my mouth, when no one else has to.
I am always expected to be good,
When no one has to.

Sometimes the expectations are so high,
I want to go somewhere to hide & cry.
These expectations are getting me down.
Because I am the only one who wears a frown.

I have to be a listening ear,
When what I say, no one cares to hear.
I have to give a shoulder to cries,
When I only hear dry your eyes.

I have to know everyone's need,
When my cries no one heeds.
I have to be strong,
Even when others are doing me wrong.

I'm so glad I can meet God's expectations.
He knows exactly what I can to.
I'm so glad I can meet God's expectations.
As long as God is pleased, I don't have to please you.
