The Green Child, Ronda
Pretending

<< -- >>

Smiling as people walk by.
Acting as if everything is ok.
Knowing full well how things truly are.
Smiling on the outside, but inside, it's not ok.
I'm just pretending.

Pretending to be happy.
Knowing full well I'm sad.
Pretending to be at peace.
Knowing full well I'm mad.
I'm just pretending.

Pretending I really like this.
Knowing full well that it's debatable.
Pretending I want to hear this.
Knowing full well it's hatable.
I'm just pretending.

That's what most of us are doing.
We're just pretending.
